OnTrack already had experience with making Siemens Smartron locomotives green (see the BDZ PP livery). But in 2022 a new project was started in collaboration with Railcolor Design for Flex Bahndienstleistungen and its Northrail-leased locomotive 192 059.
Two directions and many paths to follow. Officially titled “Adern des Netzwerks” (or “The veins of the network” in English), the design refers to Flex’s specialisation: high-quality first/last mile operation at local hubs – interconnected by long-distance services.
As part of the project, a more modern version of the Flex logo was conceived to match the striking identity of the locomotive.
The locomotive officially debuted in mid-March 2023 and marked the start of a series of livery designs that RailcolorOntrack will be developing for the German operator.
