"Thundercat" is the alias of the award-winning livery design for the national passenger railway operator of Slovakia.
The project had the noble mission of bringing a visual message that was part of ZSSK's “Going by train is responsible” campaign. This called for a modern take in the context of the difficult and unclear times, we are all facing globally due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A feeling of flight crystalized in the final stages of production. The updated “hands” logo of ZSSK also contributed to the design's symmetrical layout.

In 2021, Austrian train model manufacturer Roco released an exclusive 1:87 replica of the locomotive - made in collaboration with ZSSK and OnTrack. For more details click on the image below.
